New Google Affiliate Network Features: Rising Stars, Recruiting Tools and Links UI

his past weekend we launched several enhancements to our platform for both publishers and advertisers. First, we introduced a new level of publisher recognition to enhance our successful Affiliate VIP program. Our network quality and publisher development teams collaborate to identify and champion up and coming, quality publishers in our network. This designation, Rising Stars, is now visible in the interface and we're happy to announce over fifty rising stars have been identified in the network to coincide with the launch of this feature. Publishers who have attained this designation will be presented to advertisers with an icon next to their name.

Advertisers may now utilize our recruiting features (Publishers > Recruiting) to retrieve lists of Rising Stars and Affiliate VIPs in their program, or those with whom they do not yet have a relationship. As a reminder, if you are a publisher and want to be "found" by advertisers looking for new publishers, be sure to update your communications preferences (existing publishers may click here, or navigate to Settings > Communication Preferences) and opt in to "Non Joined Advertiser Opportunities".

We have also released improvements to the features publishers use to retrieve ads from our interface. We have had a new UI available in beta for a little over six months; during this time we've heard from users that it was much easier and faster to find and publish links than in our old interface. Based on feedback from the beta period, we have added some functionality and improved response times. Publisher users can now:
  • View ads for multiple advertisers at a time by showing recently published ads from all advertisers or only approved advertisers
  • Filter the multi-advertiser page by advertiser category
  • Filter the multi-advertiser page by hiding specific advertisers from view
  • View a list of all ads for each of their joined advertisers
  • Filter single and multi-advertiser lists by ad type (banner or text), size, promotion type and expiration
  • All pages include an export feature that will enable the user to save the list, including any applied filters, to a csv file
Bookmarks to the old versions of "get links" pages will be redirected to the new UI. If you have written scripts to retrieve links from the old pages they will no longer work; instead, you should sign up to receive daily automated feeds of new ads for all your advertisers by navigating to Get Links > OrangeLinks.

Google, Yahoo! & Microsoft in Hot Water with India!

The worlds 3 biggest search engines, Google, Yahoo! & Microsoft are about to be caught up in a legal battle with one of the world's biggest countries, India.

India's National Newspaper, The Hindu, has reported that India's Supreme Court issued notices to Google, Yahoo! & Microsoft over the promotion of "sex selection techniques" in its online advertising.

The petition claims that the search engines are in violation of the Preconception and Prenatal Diagnostic Techniques Act, which forbids the sale or advertisement of services that allow parents to pick the sex of their unborn child.

The petitioner of the case, Sabu Mathew George told IDG News Service that "there is a deliberate attempt by these companies to target Indian users with advertisements that claim to help in the selection of a child's sex."

"As activists were able to effectively stop sex selection advertising in the print medium, now Indian and foreign advertisers have moved to the Internet." George said. "Unlike the print medium, Internet search engines allow for very targeted advertising."

Surely, though it should be those that actually purchased the advertising that should be held accountable. Are Google, Yahoo! & Microsoft simply easy and high profile targets to go after? Let us know you thoughts by leaving a comment below.

How to Make Money From Blogging?

In today's world, there is no iron rice bowl career. One must try to achieve a few income streams, so if we lose our job, at least our secondary income is still flowing in. One of the ways to earn secondary income is through blogging.

1. Set up a few websites from a free provider such as blogger.com

Some people like to buy a domain and pay for a server maintenance because it has a nicer website address but this can incur costs.

I prefer to use a free provider because whatever I earn from online is a net profit for me. Cost of my online marketing is zero.

2. I setup account at AdSense. This way I earn revenue when my readers click on the ads from AdSense. (My revenue is about US$50/mth)

3. I tie up with a trading company to do marketing for them, this is call affiliate marketing. Whenever my readers open their account from their website, I earn some commission. Commission for 1 standard account opened is US$250, commission for 1 mini account opened is US$100. (My revenue about US$600/mth)

4. Install Google analytics or map in your website to track who are your readers, and how many readers read your website.

5. After setting up your own website, AdSense account and affiliate account, you need to create traffic in your website. Meaning you need a lot of people to go into your website, then they will click on AdSense ads and open account.

a. One of the ways is to join forums, create signature with your website in it.

b. Contribute comments on others people website

c. Write ideas in your website regularly, so your readers will come again and again.

d. Contribute articles in article websites.

The 1st year can be disappointing in your revenue as few people know about your website. But subsequently it will be more and more popular and revenue will increase. Who knows, your online revenue may eventually be greater than your full time job.

See here for full report: http://basemetal-trading.blogspot.com/2008/08/earning-secondary-income.html

Currently I'm working as a trader in a hedge fund. Previously I was working as a commodity specialist in a bank, advising high net worth individuals and institutions on commodities trading.

Article Marketing Tips - Systemizing the Process For Fun and Profit

People often fail to notice the value of articles. You see, they've worked so hard to have the articles written, but they did nothing else other than submitting them once to an article directory. If you have lots of articles, you should really try to systemize the process and get more profits from the articles.

When you create a system, you are planning for execution. Article marketing is no longer merely about writing and submitting. While it still can work without it, you will get better and more results if you also integrate other different channels as well.

I adapt the four tiers model for marketing my articles:

1. Submit to EzineArticles.com
This article directory is the mother of all article directories so it is worth mentioning it on its own. I know people who only submit to this directory and do quite well.

2. Submit to 2-3 other popular article directories
Focus on 2-3 other popular article directories for submission. The inbound links from less popular article directories are very insignificant. Adding the duplicate content filtering problem and others, you should better spend your time on writing and marketing instead of mass submitting to hundreds of article directories.

3. Find niche directories
There are article directories in many niches right now. You can submit to them for backlinks and more exposures.

4. Approach other site owners
The last tier is to approach other site owners, asking them if they will publish your content in exchange for backlinks. Approaching other site owners is listed the last but this can be very powerful tactic for article marketing.

If you can get into popular sites, you will get much more traffic from one article because the lack of competition in those sites. Inbound links from such sites are also significant in the search engine's eyes.
Do you want to learn the secrets about article writing and marketing? If I can drive more than 12,688 unique visitors to my site each month, you can do it too if you know the secrets.

How to Stop Fear Getting in the Way of Speaking in Public

As the old adage goes, "More people are scared of speaking in public than are afraid of dying!" If you're one of those people, don't worry, with these ten tips you'll soon have them eating out of your hand, giving you a standing ovation and demanding an encore! Its true - standing up and speaking in public does get easier with practice but for everyone, there still has to a first time! Learning to overcome the fear is vital if you're going to take your business to the next level of success. Use the following to give you the confidence you need to pick up the phone and offer your speaking services to all the appropriate groups and societies in your area.

1 Speak only on subjects which you understand. Failing to observe this golden rule will lead to you getting caught out sooner or later! And remember to show enthusiasm for your subject - if you can't get excited about it, chances no-one else will either.

2 Establish yourself as the authority on your subject, which will give you instant credibility with your audience. Keep it brief and explain why people should listen to, and believe in, you! Do this in no more than three sentences.

3 Remember that your audience's main thought is "What's in this for me?" Make sure you answer this unspoken question in your introduction - and when you introduce an element of curiosity, you'll have them sitting on the edge of their seats, desperate to find out more.

4 Never, ever start a presentation by saying that you're nervous, or that you've never done this kind of thing before. You'll just draw attention to the things you most want to hide. Indeed, your audience will start looking for evidence to back up what you say. And if the unexpected happens, and you do find yourself having to wing it on the spot, then wing it - but just don't tell your audience. You won't get sympathy; instead you'll just look unprofessional.

5 Breathe! Nervousness can make you breathe shallowly - which won't help the timbre or projection of your voice. It also helps to have a glass of water handy, should your voice dry up or should you need a little thinking time (pausing for a sip of water makes you look confident). 6 Stand when making presentations - it gives you an immediate air of authority. Actually, it's often the fact that we're standing while everyone else is sitting which makes us so uncomfortable when making presentations. It's to do with eye levels - usually when we talk with people we're at a similar eye level which helps create rapport. Think about talking with a child for a moment, if you want to make them feel more comfortable, it's usually a good idea to crouch down so that your heads are the same level. But exactly the opposite occurs when we stand to make a presentation. Just understanding this can help reduce your anxiety. 7 Use your energy - your auric field - to attract your audience. Before starting your presentation, spend a few moments - perhaps while you're being introduced 'mentally visualising your energy field expanding to encompass the whole room. It's worth practicing beforehand as it's a very powerful tool which will make your audience automatically warm to you, without understanding quite why. 8 Be aware that communicating with others is about more than your words. In fact, only 7% of your words are taken into account - the rest of your communication is understood through the tone of your voice and body language.

9 Invest in the style and colour of clothes which suit you best. Women should wake up and (non-dangly) earrings, in order to look "finished". Open-toed shoes look less professional and men should never wear either white socks or grey shoes. Wearing a jacket implies authority and bear in mind that you should dress appropriately for the message - and for the audience. 10 Finally, remember that no-one else knows what you were going to say in your talk anyway - so don't worry if you miss out a chunk of your speech - no-one else will be any the wiser!

Getting the Most Out of Your Networking Group

Here is my personal list of things to do at your networking group:

(1) Bring your business cards. Sound simple? Well, I regularly meet people at networking groups who have forgotten their cards or their cards are at the printers. Keep an ample supply in your car, briefcase, and pockets; you never know when you're going to meet someone important to your business.

(2) Wear a name tag. While attending a networking meeting, it is not realistic to expect to remember each person's name and the business they represent. If your nametag says what you do, it makes meeting you, and remembering you later, a lot easier. A nametag can also stimulate conversation about your business.

(3) Door Prizes. At many networking groups, there is an opportunity to give away a door prize. This type of promotion is two-fold. First; your product or service will get mentioned in a special way with lots of attentive people listening. Second; the winner will have an experience of your product or service and may tell others within the networking group. Note-the door prize does not have to be expensive. Regardless of the price, your business will still be acknowledged-thus, getting more exposure.

(4) Set a goal. After the guest speaker, there is time to network with others. You may want to make it a goal to network with a specific number of people at each meeting. While each person is introducing himself or herself, take note of who you want to talk to, so you can tell them about your business and ask about theirs. Remember, make it a two-way conversation.

(5) Respect others. If there is someone you want to talk to and they are engaged in a conversation, respect their time with the other person, and do not interrupt them. Stand off to the side where they can see you. Interrupting them may break rapport between you and them, and between them and the person to whom they are speaking.

(6) Have fun and be enthusiastic about your business.

Top 5 New And Lesser-Known Online Business Ideas

1. Ask people to find a hidden link in your ad copy. If they
find the hidden link tell them they will get a prize or freebie
by clicking on it. This will increase the chance that they will
buy your product or service because they will read your
whole ad copy.

2. Start a members only web site. Tell visitors what's in your
members only site and what it costs to get access. Offer them
a free membership, if, in exchange they link to your web site,
post your banner on their home page or agree to advertise
your web site in their e-zine for a set period of time. Usually
they will agree to the free advertising to save money. This is
a powerful way to get free advertising.

3. Want a popular discussion board? This technique is based on
the number of postings made by any one person. You could
give away a free product or service to any person that posts ten
or more messages on your discussion in a month. It could be a
free e-book, report, e-mail consulting etc. Just keep track of
everyone's postings each month. This could also work for e-mail
discussion lists.

4. Give your visitors an instant article directory. Tell your
visitors they can instantly add a free article directory to
their web site by linking to yours. Just place your ad or banner
ad on top of the article directory for your main product or
service. All those links can add up to a large amount of traffic
for your web site.

5. There a millions of web sites on the internet. Instead of
marketing your web site as a web site. Market it as a free web
book. Design your web site with a title page, table of contents,
chapters, etc. Just place your ad or banner for your product or
service on the top of each web page.

How to Turn a Blog Post Into One Or More Articles

Leverage is one of the most strongest point of article marketing. You could use existing content and turn it into articles. You can also use articles and repurpose them for other content formats. How could you turn a blog post into one or more articles?

The good news is, a blog post usually is an article too. You can post anything from commentaries, opinions and even multimedia content to the blog, but basically you can turn a blog post into an article or two just as easily.

First, you can just edit here and there to get the blog post into one article. If that article consists of many different ideas, like 3-7 tips on something, you could then take each of the tips and make it an article of its own.

For instance, if you take one article, you could write down several things that you know about that tip. That makes a great outline or skeleton for the article. You can expand each of the point from there. One point may be one or two paragraphs.

It only takes one very simple idea to make it into one full article. Often, I am able to extract 10 or more ideas just from a single article.

Let's take an article about tips to grow your first rose in your garden. You could write as many articles as the number of tips, one for each of them. Besides that, you could also write about the pitfall each of the tips have and how to overcome them. Those can be 2 or more articles.

How about the top 3 problems or things you learn over the years in growing roses? It may as well be related to the tips above. You may turn the same points into other articles, just the format is different.

If you have a blog post, sit down and brainstorm some ideas to turn this into a few articles and get writing. Remember, you can turn that extra articles into blog posts too.

Do you want to learn the secrets about article writing and how I drive 5,238 unique visitors to my site each month?

10 New Ways To Improve Your Customer Service

10 New Ways To Improve Your Customer Service

Copyright © Donohugh Magnus
http://www.autopilotkings.com/

Stay in contact with customers on a regular basis. Offer
them a free e-zine subscription. Ask customers if they
want to be updated by e-mail when you make changes to
your Web site. After every sale, follow-up with the
customer to see if they are satisfied with their purchase.

2. Create a customer focus group. Invite ten to twenty of
your most loyal customers to meet regularly. They will give
you ideas and input on how to improve your customer
service. You could pay them, take them out to dinner or
give them free products.

3. Make it easy for your customers to navigate on your
web site. Have a "FAQ" page on your Web site to explain
anything that might confuse your customers. Ask them to
fill out an electronic survey to find out how make your web
site more customer friendly.

4. Resolve your customers complaints quickly and
successfully. Answer all e-mail and phone calls within an
hour. If possible, you the owner of the business, personally
take care of the problem. This will show your customers
you really care about them.

5. Make it easy for your customers to contact you.
Offer as many contact methods as possible. Allow
customers to contact you by e-mail. Hyperlink your e-mail
address so customers won't have to type it. Offer toll free
numbers for phone and fax contacts.

6. Make sure employees know and use your customer
service policy. Give your employees bonuses or incentives
to practice excellent customer service. Tell employees to
be flexible with each individual customer, each one has
different concerns, needs and wants.

7. Give your customers more than they expect. Send thank
you gifts to lifetime customers. E-mail them online greeting
cards on holidays or birthdays. Award bonuses to your
customers who make a big purchase.

8. Always be polite to your customers. Use the words
your welcome, please, and thank you. Be polite to your
customers even if they are being irate with you. Always

your products and services to get enough points to get the
free computer.

10. Build strong relationships with your customers. Invite
them to company meetings, luncheons, workshops or

Starting a Home Based Business

By Daegan Smith

If you are interested in starting a home based business, it is important to realize that a long and tough road lies ahead of you. This is because unlike regular employment where your monthly income is virtually guaranteed, there is a risk you will not make any money from your business. In fact, you can even need to shoulder some losses if your home based business does not succeed. But it is essential for every business person to realize that it is almost impossible to make money during the first few months of operation because you are still recuperating the amount of capital you shelled out in this endeavor.

So when you don't see a lot of money pouring in at the start of business operations, don't get discouraged especially if you see signs that your business has the potential to succeed over the long term. Some people have the misconception that a home based business is almost a guaranteed no-fail business. Why is that? Well, if you consider the fact that you can start a business with almost no inventory, no rent, and no employees, it would seem that a home based business is the ideal solution indeed.

However, if you are really serious in this endeavor, you need to invest. This means you need to prepare for your eventual success. Don't be a victim to pressure and lost opportunities; have enough preparation so that you won't need to juggle everything and hire a lot of people when you can't handle the business anymore because you would be prone to mistakes in this case. Following the tips below can help you succeed in your home based business venture:

1. Focus on one product or service - at first, you need to concentrate on your efforts on your core product because you are just starting out and you need to build a product which you will later be associated with. It may be tempting to introduce several products all at once but unless all these products came from the same product line, you risk being seen as a business with no direction.

2. Expand your product line - this is somewhat similar to the previous tip but it would be better for you to introduce related products and services after your core product is proven to be successful. Having a wider product line will give customers more choices and it will appeal to other retailers who want to carry a whole product line on their stores.

3. Increase the amount of sales of your current customers - finding ways to increase the amount of sales you generate from already existing customers is definitely a lot cheaper and easier compared to finding new customers. This is because they are already familiar with your product and they are already satisfied with it.

4. Hire someone who can help you - having someone who can help out when there is a large amount of work to be done would be very helpful for the business. You can hire a freelancer, an independent contractor, or even your child if you cannot afford to pay a full-time employee at this point.

5. Create a website - most home based businesses have a website that enables them to expand their horizons and reach a greater number of people. If you are starting a home based business, you should take advantage of the internet as well.

How to Make Money with a Home Based Business

Making money at a home based business can be a myth for some but for others is very real. Which leads us to ask, what is the truth about a successful home based business? Most successful work from home businesses will have a Business plan, meaning they planned the business from the start. While most unsuccessful ones did not have any plan of action at all and just jumped in feet first.

In this day and age of the internet finding a home based business can be easy, but finding the right one for you can be a daunting task. The hype on so many products the promise the huge pay day at the end of the road can look so promising that you don't listen to yourself and do the proper research before jumping on the next great money making plan.

The first place to start on your business plan is to find sites that offer solutions and ideas for the home business your thinking about going into. Look for forums and message boards on the topic and look to see what people are saying. You can find most of the questions you have will be answered by people that are already trying to do what you are about to get into. You will have a big head start if you can find out what other people have done right and wrong. Compile a list of pros and cons from searching these places and you will find the right home based business for yourself.

Once you have a plan of attack set up to make sure you will be a successful entrepreneur, try to turn a special skill that you have into a business for yourself. Blending your skills with the right business plan can make for a very profitable home based business. You might be good at making websites or with software. Take those skills and increase the value of your business. For example you notice looking around some website that people are looking for good dog trainers, well your not a dog trainer but you do know how to make websites. You can talk to some dog trainers in your area an create websites for them. Finding what people are looking for and creating a product is a lot easier then creating a product and trying to find people that are looking for it. Think outside the box and ideas will start to fill your head.

The best way to have a successful home based business is to find something that you enjoy doing and create a business plan around that. Once you have that in place actually doing the work of something you like will be very easy, and brainstorming more ideas to increase the profitability of your new business will also come easy. Following these steps will eventually help your on the path to a successful and profitable home based business.

10 Ways To Increase Your Affiliate Commissions

1. Participate in chat rooms related to the product
you're reselling. Start a conversation with a person
without trying to sell to them. Later on, while you
are chatting, mention the product you're reselling.

Copyright © Donohugh Magnus
http://dmagnus1.successuniversity.com/specialoffer

2. Create a free ebook with the advertisement and
link of your affiliate web site. The subject of the free
ebook should draw your target audience to down-
load it. Also submit it to some ebook directories.

3. Start your own affiliate program directory. Join
a large number of affiliate programs and list them all
in a directory format on your web site. Then just
advertise your free affiliate program directory.

4. Write your own affiliate program ads. If all the
other affiliates use the same ads you do, that does
not give you an edge over your competition. Use
a different ad to give yourself an advantage over
all the other affiliates.

5. Use a personal endorsement ad. Only use one if
you've actually bought the product or service for the
affiliate program. Tell people what kind of benefits
and results you've received using the product.

6. Advertise the product you're reselling in your
signature file. Use an attention getting headline and
a good reason for them to visit your affiliate site.
Make sure your sig file doesn't go over 5 lines.

7. Join a web ring. It should attract the same type
of people that would be interested in buying the
product you're reselling. You could also trade links
on your own with other related web sites.

8. Participate on web discussion boards. Post your
comments, answer other people's questions, and
ask your own questions. Include your affiliate text
link under each message you post.

9. Create a free ezine. Use your ezine to advertise
the affiliate programs you've joined. Submit your
ezine to online ezine directories and promote it on
your web site.

10. Start a private web site. Use it as a free bonus
if people buy the product you resell. You could
also allow people to join for free and you could
advertise the affiliate program you've joined.

Will There be Enough Gold When the Gold Rush Really Hits?

By Kevin A. Demeritt

It's that old supply-and-demand issue.

When everyone wants something-say, Hanna Montana tickets-its price can go right through the roof. And though Ms. Montana's glittering performance may not exactly thrill you, the fact that it thrills about 10 billion young girls has, in many cases, actually sent the price of her otherwise $60 tickets to upwards of $2,000.

That may soon be gold's story.

Like Hannah Montana, gold certainly isn't everyone's favorite. For a good number of traditional stock-and-bond investors, the precious metal may as well be radioactive. "Gold? It's a barbarian's relic. Why on earth would I want anything to do with that?" is what you might overhear one of these stuffy investors mutter.

But with the dollar unable to raise itself from record lows, it's not out of the question to, one morning, find our economic world turned upside down...and, with it, those investors who've looked down their noses at gold all their lives.

If that happened, it could motivate these people to become official card-carrying gold bugs virtually overnight...not that there'd be an abundance of gold to buy at that point.

WILL THE LAST ONE HOLDING DOLLARS PLEASE SHUT OFF THE LIGHTS?

It's already an exhausted cliché to say that the dollar is in freefall-that's how much of a given this dollar dropping phenomenon has become (underlined by the fact that even McDonald's has run ads making a joke of the dollar's woes).

Even so, most people remain under the impression that the current plunge merely falls within the acceptable range of the dollar's broad scale of flexibility and that, once it's gotten this bout of weakness out of its system, the greenback will simply revert to its normally indestructible self.

Ho hum. End of story.

But, this time, the story may be different.

The dollar could literally descend so low against the euro (it's now at a record $1.58), could fall so far on the Dollar Index (it's at an unheard of 72), that nations could ultimately feel backed into a corner. And, once there, they could make some irrevocable, once-in-our-lifetime decisions.

For example, Saudi, assorted Middle East nations and China have nearly $3 trillion in cash reserves. With no dollar bottom in the foreseeable future, China has threatened to use the nuclear option-dumping dollars in favor of the euro and a basket of other currencies.

As it is, the idea of "dollar-divesting" appears dangerously contagious. If enough nations adopt the idea-and many are now mulling it over-it could, as unbelievable as it sounds, demote America's currency to almost third-world status.

If and when that happens, where would investors fly in a flight from the dollar?

Well, they'd fly to gold of course. But that's just where the story gets interesting.

MODELING THE PRICE OF GOLD IN A FLIGHT FROM THE DOLLAR

The trouble here is that gold has a notoriously inelastic supply. You'll never hear, "Sure, go ahead, buy that 1,000 ounces of gold. We'll dig more up tomorrow."

Uh uh. While people are mining the precious metal all the time, worldwide production has stagnated these last five years and is now running at a relative snail's pace. A flight from the dollar to gold would quickly eat up its current inventory, and, like those Hannah Montana tickets, send the price of the metal to the moon.

Analyst Doug Dillon, in his article, "There's Just Not Enough Gold; Modeling A Dollar Flight To Gold" gave us a picture of what this might look like. If there were just a 1% shift of the assets of US households (now in stocks, bonds and funds) into gold, maybe representing an "I'm worried about the dollar" attitude (but still falling far short of a panic), Dillon's model points to inelastic gold hitting $4,769 an ounce.

On the other hand, if there were a flight from the dollar that amounted to, as Dillon put it, a "minor panic," his model literally has gold ascending the $10,000 an ounce throne.

As astonishing as all this sounds, without enough gold around to satisfy panicky investors, these kinds of unreal prices are not out of the question.

LINED UP AT MIDNIGHT FOR GOLD

Although it never fell under Dillon's "minor panic" category, the last time we had anything resembling a run on gold was back in 1980. Oil prices were way up, Inflation was out of control, the Russians were invading Afghanistan and smiling Jimmy Carter had no answer for any of it.

As a result, gold and silver both reached record territory. At one tiny Woonsocket, Rhode Island coin shop, people were lined up around the block at midnight, no less, looking to either sell their gold and silver stuff-like silver tea sets-at those record prices or else buy precious metals as an antidote for the inflation that swirled all around them.

At the height of it, the precious metal market began having problems getting people in and out. Dealers actually ran out of gold coins, bars and bags of "junk silver" to sell. Values moved so fast it was hard to put price tags on precious metal products. Gold liquidity, which is usually excellent, became sporadic in the face of such urgent buying and selling. It was all an example of what happens when a whole lot of people suddenly want something of increasingly limited availability.

Was that midnight line around the block a preview of coming events? Will we see a full-blown flight from the dollar in our lifetime? Will Doug Dillon's $4,000 or $10,000 gold come to pass?

Think about all that the next time your daughter or granddaughter asks you to cough up $2,000 so she can go see Hannah.•

MARKETING YOUR OWN PRODUCTS

MARKETING YOUR OWN PRODUCTS

Copyright © http://dmagnus1.successuniversity.com/specialoffer

One of the main problems within the "inner circle" of the mail order business

is that everyone is selling everyone else's products. Pages crammed full with

commission dealerships is turning a good thing out of hand.

It's been said over and over again, but newcomers to the industry should

realize that they need to develop their own products and services. Commission

dealerships are fine to compliment your business if the product is relative

to your main product, but everyone should strive for developing their OWN

product too. No one will ever get rich dealing in just commission dealer-

ships. And people who think this way will give up over a period of time

because they go broke. Let's stop this madness and spread the word about

becoming a Prime Source.

How do you develop your own specialized product or service? It may take a

few months to get your "feet wet" in mail order to determine your particular

"niche." However, you should already know the talents you possess inside

yourself and what your own capabilities are. There has to be more to your

"business" than "making money"!

What are your hobbies and interests? What would you like to do more than

anything else and would you do it if you were not getting paid?

Perhaps you would rather write, edit, paste-up or seal envelopes.

Dorothy Christian (Shells 345) once explained the "high" she used to get when doing a

mass mailing. She loved peeling off labels, sticking them on envelopes and

folding the materials to insert. She said that every envelope she stuffed,

she felt it would generate a big customer order. This is enthusiasm!

Therefore, Dorothy could have developed a specialized or confidential

mailing service. Unlike a big mail where she would be mailing circulars in

envelopes, but a targeted-mailing for different programs and products.

(Example: A circular selling books and reports would be marketed only to

book buyers from lists Dorothy would purchase and use for these types of

mailings. She also would be careful not to put any conflicting information

in this special mailing she was preparing for specific customers.)

You can take anything you sell and creatively turn it into your own prime

source product. A good friend of mine, Helen VanAllen loved to prepare big

mails so she created the "Design-Your-Own-Big-Mail-Package." Customers were

presented with a list of the circulars Helen had on hand and they checked off

the ones that interested them. This is one example of how an old concept can

be turned into something new with a twist that makes it YOUR OWN product.

There are several ideas that other mail order folks used to create their own

product. You can use the same concept locally also. If you sell vitamins, for

instance, you could sell them in individual packets and label them for each

day of the week. Use the vitamins from the company you are working with but

the individual packets and labels would be your own product. You can also

charge more for this personal touch.

You are unique! You are an individual who has special talents and interests.

Your business should be a reflection of YOU and your own contribution to mail

order. Mail order is a wonderful business, filled with some of the best

people in the world. But it's up to every one of us to keep it that way.

Discover How You Can Be Successful With an Effective Business Image

http://dmagnus1.successuniversity.com/specialoffer

In the past, when someone made the decision to go into business for themselves, there was seldom a question of whether they would succeed. Many business people had no business plans, had done no market research or even understood good management skills. They just opened their doors and grew. Today, the marketplace is much different.

Competition is fierce.
Businesses must compete daily in order to stand out from the crowd, to be unique and to achieve brand recognition for their products and loyalty from their customers. It is not enough to know your business; you must be perceived to be successful, to provide the best product or service, and to stand by your product. Not only must you know your business, you must have a business image that reflects this.

Many businesses get so caught up in the every day promoting and marketing of their products or services that they often neglect one very important item: a quality, consistent
business image. Today, with so many businesses competing for the ever-shrinking consumer dollar, a professional image that stands out more than your competitor's becomes even more essential. It is important to be recognized in a consistently positive manner.

Because you may only get one chance to create a positive first impression, you want it to be the very best one.

Where do you Start?

Working with a graphic design professional will ensure that you achieve a successful image. All of your marketing and corporate materials will be consistent and reflect your success.

Start with a Logo

Careful consideration must go into a logo design in order to achieve the look you want. The type of business (including a home based business), profession and product will guide you in various directions. It is important to share your business expectations and market focus with your designer so she or he can better design an effective logo.

Deciding on a designer is important--someone who can relate to your business and to your competition, and someone who takes the time to find out about your business. A good designer asks a lot of questions before beginning the design process and should give you several good designs to choose from.

Good designers will keep in mind the ever-increasing uses for your logo. It must be adaptable for use not only on cards and letterhead, but on signage and perhaps the Internet. Your logo must be able to grow with your company. Remember, your logo is the image you present to the world - be sure it's an impressive one.

Fonts, Ink Colors, and Paper Choices

Various fonts (typefaces) are also used to reflect your image. Simplicity and professionalism are the key.

The next consideration is your choice of ink colors and paper choices for producing your stationery packages. Take note of the correspondence that you receive daily in the mail. Corporate professionals tend to use conservative and strong colors of ink. Blue and dark gray are the most popular choices for this group. But with more women in the boardrooms and young entrepreneurs in the technological and computer fields, colors are changing--becoming brighter and more adventurous. Popular color trends are desert colors--rust, green and indigo, for example. Trends to recycled papers are the result of our environmental focus. Today, the recycling process is so advanced that most quality papers are recycled in varying percentages of recycled content. The speckled fiber look is not as popular as it once was; even many high-end papers have recycled content.

Business Cards
Business cards are often the first and last impression that you give a customer; so it is imperative that yours be the best it can be. A quality
business card and logo reflects favorably on you. It shows that you have taken the time to properly market your products, and states, "We're important." even before you say a word. It reflects the quality of work that you do. In other words, ordinary card, ordinary work; great card, great work. A quality card will give you the competitive edge, especially if your card and that of your competitors' are in the hands of a customer trying to make a decision.

Marketing Niche

How To Marketing Your Niche
Copyright © SuccessUniversityPros
http://www.www.successuniversitypros.com

When you market your business, this is one of the many things that you should do to effectively create an ad campaign such as your marketing brochures - you need to define your marketing territory or your target market.

Target marketing is focusing on a particular target or niche that has a need for your product and service, and then creating your ad, your full color brochures for example, to answer their specific needs and issues. Your target market then is your potential buyers who require your product or solution and would actually buy from you. Your target market is often made up of smaller groups who have the same needs, problems, issues, experiences and interests.

So who is your target market? They are the ones who 'want to buy' from you because they know that your product or service is essential to their lives.

Here are just some of the questions you need to answer if you want to understand and truly be able to serve your particular target niche:

Who are they?

Are your products for the baby boomers? Or is it the Generation X that would benefit more from your business? Are they working or stay-at-home moms? Do they have families or are they single yuppies? Are you looking for males or females? What age? Teenagers or middle aged people?

What do they want to buy?

Do they buy new mobile phones every year? Do they upgrade their laptops or personal computers every month? Are they technology buffs that they always have to have the newest gizmo in digital technology? Do they spend more money on clothes or food?

How do they want to buy?

Do they buy their stuff in bulk? Or are they satisfied with single purchases? Do they often get wholesale?

When do they want to buy?

When they have the money or when they need it? Do they buy during sales? Or your target market avoids throngs of people when they shop? Do they buy during the time that they need their things? Or they buy on a whim?

Where do they want to buy?

At the local grocer, the big department stores, in trendy shops, out-of-the-way boutiques, thrift shops, or garage sales.

Why do they want to buy?

Because they need to have their stuffs or they just want to buy it because they saw it on TV? Did they hear their neighbor raving about the product that's why they also must have one? Do they truly believe that the merchandise can help them solve their problem?

The more you understand your target market, the easier it is for you to create an ad that provides solutions to their needs and wants.

Google's new method to detect duplicate content

Google doesn't like duplicate content. The reason for that is that the top 10 search results should offer users a choice of different web pages.

Google's new patent application on near duplicate content describes a new method how Google tries to keep its users from finding redundant content in the result pages.

Content may be duplicated for a variety of reasons

There are many reasons why content is duplicated on more than one page, or why documents are very similar:

The content of a web page is available in different formats: web page, printable page, PDF, mobile phone page, etc.
The content of a web page is syndicated, for example news articles or blog posts.
The content management system (CMS) displays the same content in different locations. For example, an item might be listed in a "Size" category and in a "Color" category.

The website owner offers mirrors to make sure that a website does not slow down when many people want to access the same page at the same time.
Someone stole the contents of a web page to reproduce it on other websites.
To avoid showing the same content more than once in the search results, search engines try to detect these duplicate pages.

What's in the patent application?

The patent application describes how Google tries to detect duplicate or near duplicate content at different web addresses. It seems that Google might combine several existing methods for detecting new duplicate content to identify more duplicates on the Internet.

The new patent application shows that Google is serious about detecting duplicate content issues. This new patent application is only the latest step in Google's attempts to detect duplicate content.

What does Google do when it detects duplicate content?

It's hard to tell what Google will do when they find duplicate pages. There are many instances where duplicated content is used for a legitimate purpose.

If Google only removes the duplicate pages from the search results for a certain query that might be okay. If Google penalized duplicate pages by removing them completely from the index, Google might risk not being relevant for very specific queries and it also might penalize the wrong pages.

It's likely that Google will pick the web page with the best reputation and the best inbound links for the search results if it finds more than one page with the same content.

10 Electrifying Ways To Explode Your Orders In 2008

10 Electrifying Ways To Explode Your Orders In 2008

1. Persuade visitors to link to your web site. Give
them a freebie in exchange for them linking to your
web site. It could be content, software, etc.

2. Link to web sites that provide useful information
or services for your visitors. If you have many useful
links on your site, they may make it their start page.

3. Spice-up your web site's wording using plenty of
adjectives. It gives your visitors a clearer vision of
what your explaining or describing to them.

4. Don't make your banner ads look like ads. Most
people ignore banner ads. Design them to look like
content and have them click to read the rest.

5. Join affiliate programs that go with the theme of
your web site. You'll just be wasting valuable space
and time if your visitors aren't interested in them.

6. Market your web site as a free club instead of
a web site. This'll increase your repeat visitors and
sales because people enjoy belonging to groups.

7. Interact with your online customers on a regular
basis. This'll show them you care about them. You
could use a chat room, forum or message system.

8. Check your web site links regularly. After people
click on one link, and it doesn't work, they usually
won't risk wasting their time clicking on another one.

9. Give visitors a positive experience when they're
at your web site. Provide them with original content
and free stuff. They'll tell all of their friends about it.

10. Share customers with other businesses that have
the same target audience. Offer their product to your
customers if, in exchange they do the same for you.

6 Easy Tips To Internet Marketing Success

6 Easy Tips To Internet Marketing Success
http://dmagnus1.successuniversity.com/specialoffer

Have you heard of people saying, "The market is saturated in the high keyword search engine niche" Though they maybe right, this is not at all one hundred percent correct. To tell you the truth, there is enough fish (money) for everyone.

To be blunt to everyone out there and without any hitches when I say this:

"There is plenty of fish to go around" and a way to do this is quite simple.

1. Create a free Blogger.com or Word press website with the right keywords and phrases (bait) to attract hundreds & thousands of people willing to purchase your product. The way to find these people who are interested requires researching on the internet for Forums where your topic is talked about 24/7.Participating in these forums by commenting on various subjects allows you to enter your website link, which in turn creates a back link to your website. The more back links created for the purpose of driving traffic to your website, the more money you make. Its that simple.

2. Flash your affiliate links: It is important to create bold text affiliate links that can point to where you're primary website is located for customers to read more information before they pull out there credits cards to purchase.

3. Take Action today. Not tomorrow, or next week or next month. Many people are floundering around with no direction hence it is necessary to set goals written down and work at it everyday. Go for it! 'You can eat an elephant one piece at a time" If you know what I mean.

4. Work on one project at a time until you have mastered it. It's no good working on too many projects. Concentrate and master one at a time.

5. Goal Setting: Many successful people have goals written down for success. I have always advocated the fact that "A goal not written down is only a wish" especially in the Internet Marketing arena. Why is that so, anyone may ask?Well, when a goal is written down, it crystallizes your thinking pattern to focus on one thing at a time. By using a positive present tense affirmation for example: 'I came, I saw I conquered or "My subconscious now provides me with the specific massive action plans I need to attain my desired results" sets our mind to tap into natural healthy laws which motivates us to the worthwhile goal.

6. Article Typing: Is another Internet Marketing Strategy to drive traffic to your blogs by placing the 500 to 600 word articles to Enzine Articles as well as many other article sites situated all over the internet.

Online Marketing

Knowing how to use offline advertising in internet marketing can give you a significant advantage over your competitors, since many do not use offline methods to advertise their products.
http://dmagnus1.successuniversity.com/specialoffer

Offline advertising is particularly relevant if you are selling a product, or offering a service, that attract customers locally. For example, you could offer a fitness aid at your local leisure center. Many leisure or fitness centers will allow you to put a free poster offering your product, but even if they charge you for it the price is usually small. Perhaps you have a golf training aid that you can advertise at your local golf club.

Local classified ads are also a good means of getting your product some local publicity. The classified ads pages or even adverts placed on selected pages of your local press, frequently provide you with local orders. The beauty of these is that they are very easy to follow up, either with back-end products or new ones. You need not even restrict yourself to the local press. How often have you seen an internet marketing advert on the national press? They are not uncommon, and although expensive, they must produce a good return.

If you have a niche website, it could be worth your while browsing round your local newsagent and checking out the magazines on display. You know the kind - all these racks upon racks of magazines on every topic you can think of. Have a word with the newsvendor and find out some of the more popular magazines that cover your niche. These could be good publications for placing your adverts, especially if they are not too expensive and they have a good circulation.

Poster campaigns can also work well. You can advertise with posters in many shopping malls, and some stores also offer you the opportunity place an A5 poster for only pennies a week. Have your own business cards printed with your internet business contact details, such as website address and email address in addition to your phone number. Put your website address on everything, and have a signature that use on all correspondence. Not just emails and forum postings, but also offline correspondence such as letters, invoices, receipts and anything else you send to other people.

Another form of offline marketing that most people have never heard of, let alone use, is buzz advertising. This type of advertising has been growing in popularity recently, especially by offline businesses. It is used extensively by some auto companies and by cosmetics companies. Buzz advertising involves getting a verbal buzz going about your website or product. Some companies pay people specifically to verbally promote their products by approaching strangers, striking up conversations and bringing up the product in the conversation.

"Say, have you heard about the latest perfume from ----!" While not yet common it is getting more popular. Of course, the buzz need not be started off by someone you have employed to do it, but you can do it yourself. You can get your family and relatives involved as well. Before you know it, everybody might be talking about your product or your great new website. That's how YouTube and MySpace got so popular.

If you have a van or pick-up get your business name and website address painted on the site. It's easier to get a buzz going if people see your website in their face all the time, on vehicles, on posters, in newspapers and magazines, and even chalked on walls! Well, perhaps not the last one, but that would sure get people noticing your website! Do you get the idea? Get your website name known in every way that you can.

How about a local radio slot, with you explaining the virtues and benefits of your product, service or website? Stress the benefits, and you need not restrict it to local radio. Try for a national radio slot or even TV if your business is sizeable enough. There are no restrictions to the advertising methods you can use. Hire a loudspeaker and shout it from the rooftops!

Online advertising methods are very effective in internet marketing, since they can be visible to people all round the world, but if you know how to use offline advertising it can also work very nicely for you, and bring you a lot of business you would not otherwise have.

Know How To Write A Compelling Site Titles and Descriptions

There are many places in your HTML you can include keywords, but the Titles and descriptions are arguably the most important elements of your Web site.
Copyright © Donohugh Magnus
http://dmagnus1.successuniversity.com/specialoffer

These places are not the most important in terms of their ability to improve rankings in the search engines, or in terms of the search engines's algorithm, but are most important in terms of their ability to compel someone to visit your Web site. That is, after all, the ultimate goal of search engine positioning, isn't it? Not a lot of point in attaining a top ranking in a search engine if you are just going to call your site "Shop Here."

Of course, both the title and the description META tag must be compelling, but the Title tag has special relevance, because so many search engines use the title exactly as it appears on your page. Some search engines will use the site description that you give in the META tags, but others will not. For this reason, the title of the site is more important than the site description.

Longer Titles are More Effective

Longer titles build a more compelling reason to visit a Web site. Because it takes a certain number of words to persuade someone to to take action, logic dictates that longer sentences have more opportunity to create that compelling argument. It is difficult to discuss time, money, value, and the problem that the Web site solves in just two or three words.

People often scan headlines in brochures and magazines, even when they don't read all the information. Since the title is usually a hyperlink, it is a different color, and it is generally bold and easier to read than the site's description in the search engine listing. When it is longer, there are more words with which to "hook" a reader. If something catches the reader's eye as they scroll down a list of site titles, they will hopefully read the site description. If you have done your work, they will be hooked.

People Don't Read Text, They Recognize Words

People don't read individual letters after about the time they turn 12 years old; they recognize words. Educators know that people glance at words and recognize the words by the shapes defined by the tops of the letters. If you don't believe it, take a sentence in any newspaper or book and cover the bottom half of the words. You can still read the words with relative ease. Now, cover the top of a different sentence. You will find that words are harder to read because there is not much difference in the shape or line of the bottom of the words. Interesting, but how does this apply here?

Here's how: Since people recognize words because the tops of words vary in height and appearance, then sentences that start with just one capital letter and then lowercase letters are easier to recognize and get read faster.

Words in all caps are hard to read. People don't like to read them and don't read them as easily. Recognizing the words in the sentences is tedious, and these listings are frequently overlooked.

Every little advantage helps you.

We each have our own tastes. Therefore, different people have different ideas in associating colors with products. There is no actual answer on what the best color would be for a product and at one time everything was done by chance. Now you can now find the best equipment and personnel in the design and printing industry that help produce beautiful labels. The same importance is now applied to producing the appropriate label as it is to producing a product. There are many family owned companies that guarantee in creating a label with 100% satisfaction and that gives a lasting impression.

Getting brand awareness that gives a lasting impression is a point of major concern for most companies today. By using a variety of logo or product colors you may decrease your marketing efforts.

Furthermore, the effectiveness of retail space is greatly reduced with the wrong colors. Sometimes, the variety of colors from different products may make a unique product blend with other products on the store shelf. Therefore, uniformity of a color is very important in creating brand awareness and a presence in the retail atmosphere.

The best way of making a product stand out from other products is with colors and materials that pop. Large manufacturers know that value and this is why they are always striving for color brilliance. You too, are sure to experience increased sales when your product has good shelf appeal.

Colors have a psychological influence in marketing The effect of colors in influencing the mind of the prospective customer is high. The moods and the sentiments are represented with colors. Symbolic representation is not blind, but an effective way of communicating the feelings spontaneously and strongly.

The changes we observe on earth with the advent of spring, the blossoming of the colorful plants and the joyful moods of the birds and other living beings. They all have been so synchronized that it stands testimony to the fact that color does have an effect on the human mind and the living beings. Therefore, as we verbally communicate to people in different dialects, so do the effects of colors in nonverbal communication.

The best example would be nature. As a creative artist, Mother Nature has made the best ever color combinations on earth. Whether it is color in flowers, in butterflies or in the other millions of living creatures. We as a civilized world had the basic lessons of the uses and impacts of the colors from Mother Nature.

While Mother Nature has used the same impact for its continuity, reproduction and sustenance, we today make use of the same for our selfish motives. Even more so in getting the target market attracted. To the ever expanding clientele, the language of the color has evolved as an effective marketing tool.

Affiliate marketing has many descriptions, yet all have the same meaning. Affiliate marketing is a huge business piece on the Internet. It is a cooperative effort between merchants and an affiliate's website. For many years now, affiliate marketing has proved to be a cost-efficient, measurable method of delivering long-tern results. It has become famous for Internet sites who are trying to make some extra or additional income for their site. Every day, people get interested to affiliate marketing and want to make money out of it. But in many cases, these new affiliates do not fully understand the affiliate world and make costly mistakes. In other words, affiliate marketing has often been misunderstood.

In affiliate marketing, an affiliate is compensated for every visitor, subscriber and/or customer provided through his efforts. The said compensation may be made based on a certain value for each visit. The most attractive aspect of affiliate marketing from the merchant's viewpoint is that no payment is due to an affiliate until results are appreciated.

Affiliate marketing is a great situation for both the marketer and the affiliate. If they would work together, they can be an advantage to both. Plus the fact that it seems to make sense, it is easy and inexpensive way to start, and you can be up and running within a few days. But there is one thing to consider, it is how to get traffic and make your offer different than all others.

The only way for you to start earning an income on the internet is to take action. Take no action = no money. Once you take action and put something into motion you will start to make an income. Only you can determine your financial destiny. Take action today and start earning!
